Lead-gen CASE STUDY · 05 / 10
Custom Home BUILDER
A luxury builder that needs a handful of great leads a month, not a flood of bad ones.
The CLIENT
A custom home builder taking on a limited number of projects a year, with typical builds starting around $800k. Capacity, not demand, is the constraint.
The CHALLENGE
At this project size the goal is a few excellent conversations a month. Instead, the sales team was drowning in renovation requests, price-shoppers and out-of-budget enquiries: 41% of leads were junk, and the good ones were getting slow responses because of it.
What we DID
- Narrowed to high-intent, exact-match territory and let cheap-but-wrong traffic go to competitors.
- Rebuilt the landing page around qualification: budget range and timeline asked up front, before the phone number.
- Blocked junk lead sources at the form, so known-bad patterns never reach the CRM.
- Policed search terms hourly, because at $40-plus clicks a single bad query left running is real money.
The hourly clock effect
When every click costs a double-digit sum, waste compounds fast. The hourly search-term pass is worth more here per dollar of spend than on any other account profile we run.
The RESULTS
- Design consultations
- 240
- Junk-lead rate
- 41% → 9%
- Cost per consultation
- −37%
- Project pipeline
- $14M
